NLP Community Political Statement

We do not necessarily support one party over another, our view of politics is that political systems are influenced by media, resources, and will act in ways contrary to their rhetoric. So our overall view is humanist, the golden rule. Our view of software and copyright is that of FOSS, we support FOSS software in our applications. It is generally accepted that evolution seems to have the most proof, we are agnostic on the point of religion due to the nature of the postulates. There may be proof of afterlife according to some articles, but religious belief did not influence experience of participants. As far as economic systems, a semi capitalistic system with safety nets may be a good compromise. We do not approve of illegal and unethical activity.
