Lie Detection

Lie detection using NLP eye movements is possible, but people are careful with their eyes if questioned. We recommend the CIA method:

Find the book on Amazon that championed this improved method: Spy The Lie, by Philip Houston

The Lie Detection Process looks at non-verbal and verbal indicators

On average we can speak about 135 words per minute, we think 10 times as fast. It is generally a harder process to lie. Some forms of NLP technique can be used to make it difficult to lie. Forcing someone to stare into a bright light, asking them to remember an event backwards, and a preface of fast questions in a forceful voice can be used in the interview room to make a subject more likely to tell the truth. Forms of hypnosis can be used also.

Look for clusters within 5 seconds of asking a question. A cluster is more than one deceptive indicator that takes place within 5 seconds of asking a question. A group of 2 is not as indicative as 3 or more.

Verbal Deceptive:

Repeating the Question

Asking to Rephrase the Question

Non Answer Statements

No Direct Denial

Attacking the Questioner     Change the direction of the questioning

Strange Level of Concern

Odd Level of Politeness

Refusing the answer the question

Memory Difficulty

Reluctance to answer the question

Referral Statements  "as I said before", "as we said in our report"

Invoking Religion                dress up the lie

Qualifiers(Exclusion, Perception)    "basically, kind of, sort of" "honestly, candidly"

Convincing Statements(each one is considered part of the cluster) "why would I...., I care about my job"

Non Verbal Deceptive

Anchor Point Movement

Hand or Face Activity

Hiding the Face or Eyes

Grooming Gestures

Swallowing Before Answering a Question

Do not make you questions too complicated. Do not give much time between questions. Do not bluff, instead say "Would there be a reason that we found your fingerprints(or you were seen in the area)?" Always ask "What else" and at the end ask a catch all question.
