In the use of nlp it is the consideration of the effects persuading someone will have on their, your, and everyone's situation. When one uses nlp they must be sure that the result benefits both parties, or at least does not harm them. There are exceptions when dealing with hostile and dangerous persons, like in a law enforcement setting. If you feel you must try to change a direction of a meeting, do so with care. No one like a jerk. People may remember how things affected them and refuse to help you in the future. Always try to get a good all round compromise.
